How building a custom spelling list works
This page builds a custom spelling list, not a fixed one. Paste 5 to 30 words into the box and submit them. There is no server storing your list: the words are encoded directly into the page's link, so the link itself is the list. Share that link and anyone who opens it gets the exact same words.
Each word you paste is checked. A word already on the allowed list goes straight in. A word that is not recognized, or one that is on the blocked list, gets refused, and the page tells you the reason so you can fix it and resubmit rather than guess what went wrong.
Once your list is built, it plays like any other spelling round on the site. A round is ten words at a time, and the word and its example sentence are read aloud using your browser's built-in voice. Practice mode lets a word be retried, with "close" shown for a one-letter miss. Test mode gives one try per word, a score out of ten, and a printable word list and answer sheet once the round finishes.
This is a plain custom spelling list builder: type in the words you actually want tested, in whatever order and grouping makes sense for your class, your child, or your own study, like rhythm for a vocabulary unit or calendar for a set of tricky homophones. It has nothing to do with any other company's spelling bee competition or brand. It just turns your words into a link.
Tips for building a good list
Group by pattern. A list of words that share a spelling pattern, like a set of silent letters or a shared suffix, teaches faster than a random mix.
Test your own list first. Run a Practice round yourself before sharing the link, so you can hear how each word and sentence sound out loud and catch anything that needs a different word.
Keep it to one topic. Since you can add up to 30 words, it is tempting to combine several weeks of vocabulary into one list. A tighter list of 10 to 15 words on one topic usually works better for a single session.
Have a backup word ready. If a word gets refused, have a close alternative in mind, like a simpler synonym or a different form of the word, so building the list stays quick.
Save the link somewhere safe. Since the list lives entirely in the link, bookmark it or paste it into your lesson notes so you do not have to rebuild it later.
For teachers
Built with classroom and tutoring use in mind from the start.
Printing. Once a Test mode round is finished, print the word list and the answer sheet straight from the page, useful for a study sheet, a homework packet, or a record you can file.
Sharing links. The link is the whole point of this tool. Send one link to an entire class, a single student, or a parent for home practice, and everyone who opens it works from your exact list, in the same order.
Using it in class. Because there is no account and no server involved, a list you build today can be reused next term without asking anyone to sign in. Build one list per unit, keep the links in your lesson plan, and reuse them year after year.
Handle it as your own tool. Treat this as a way to turn any word list, whether it is from a textbook, a spelling curriculum, or your own notes, into a playable round in a couple of minutes.
